AccordWest have announced the retirement of Chief Executive Officer Neil Hamilton after more than 10 years in his position.
During this time Mr Hamilton, with the support of the board, led the expansion of AccordWest’s services into the Peel, South Metro and Manjimup regions. These changes added value to the work AccordWest does in helping an often vulnerable client base.
Some of the initiatives during this period, in addition to an already extensive portfolio of services, included re-branding the organisation, establishing partnerships, a large building program - including office space, social housing units and youth crisis accommodation - projects such as Coat-a-Thon, Our Lot (Mario’s Garden) and a child psychologist service.
Mr Hamilton leaves the organisation on a sound financial footing.
“Neil is a great strategic thinker who operates from a strong ethical base,” Board President Glenys McDonald said.
“He will be sadly missed and we are grateful for his years of service, dedication, advice and wisdom.”
Mr Hamilton will retire officially on July 13, 2018.
“It has been a privilege to work with the board and staff as AccordWest has grown into a proud and committed place-based organisation,” he said.
“No one person ever achieves the outcomes on their own. Being surrounded by committed, competent people was the driver to success.”
Mr Hamilton welcomes the appointment of Nicole Gibbs as the incoming CEO, as an exciting next step for AccordWest.
“She will bring a different skillset, but one that is important to ensure AccordWest continues to provide much needed services,” he said.
AccordWest is a proud place-based organisation committed to building community resilience.
