Good things start with Hello
If the last few years have taught us one thing, it’s that connecting with your community is everything. But for those of us doing it tough or sleeping rough, it can feel like the world forgets about you. Like you’re invisible. At Accordwest, we know the power of sharing stories – and it all starts with Hello.
The Accordwest Hello Roadshow – the South West’s BIGGEST meet and greet!
Accordwest, in conjunction with other likeminded organisations and government departments, invites you to the Hello Roadshow – the South West’s BIGGEST meet and greet. Touring five major towns across the South West over 2 big weeks in October, the Roadshow is a festival for EVERYONE in the community to get around each other to catch up, listen up, hang out and help out. By connecting people in need to friends, neighbours, businesses and support services, we can break down barriers and start the conversations that lead to real positive change.

Let’s start the conversation now
The Hello Roadshow is about reaching out to those sleeping rough and doing it tough and saying, ‘Hello. Kaya. Kia Ora. We see you, you’re not invisible – and your story matters’. It is estimated over 9000 people experience homelessness each day in our state, at a higher rate than the rest of the country. Right now, we’re treating it as a housing issue. But if we look only through a housing lens, we miss the many other deep social, health and economic issues it intersects with.
These are just some we know of:
- Family and domestic violence
- Social isolation
- Chronic physical and mental health conditions
- Alcohol and other drug dependence.
- Psychological distress
- Justice and legal issues
- Housing supply and housing affordability
The Hello Roadshow will bring the community together to get the conversation rolling about what’s really going on in our communities.
Hello. I can chip in.
If supporting more people in the South West motivates you to do the same, we’d love to hear from you. Perhaps your business has services to support those in need. Maybe you got time to help out, or you’re simply finding it hard to get staff and are open to meeting different people. Whatever it is, we’re inviting individuals, organisations and businesses across our region to chip in. Just fill in the form below, and we’ll get in touch.
Heartfelt thanks
Our communities are stronger because of the rich tapestry of likeminded organisations sharing common goals. Our Hello Roadshow is a success because of the below organisations. Accordwest offer our heartfelt thanks to every one involved.
